Is there a minimum shaft length I should look for or are they all pretty much the same size in each class of motor? Generally speaking, the prop diameter and pitch both affect the motor’s power draw. In your case, a wattmeter 1250kvv not help you because of the airflow around the motor.

Some linked items from userguide out of stock and you are looking for substitute, please post, together we can find a replacement or another supplier. That motor weighs almost 6 ounces and is rated for watts at 3S.

Sounds like the motor doesn’t have the greatest airflow around it but perhaps there’s nothing that can be done about that.

Try propping down to a 9X6 and see what happens, if it is still getting hot either get some air to it or get another motor cause a 9X6 should not pull even close to watts on 3S at KV.
